On this Day tour meet your expert local guide dedicated exclusively to you and your group, at the Athens hotel or Piraeus port and depart in our fully air-conditioned vehicle and transfer you at the most important Archeological Sites of Greece? Mycenae, Nauplion and Epidaurus located in Argolis region.

 

The Corinth Canal will be our firts short stop. The Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow piece of land that once linked a strip of land and now with the canal separates the Peloponnese from Central Greece, connecting the two seas, the Corinthian and the Saronic Gulf and then we will visit Ancient Corinth to walk at the same paths that the famous personality of Apostle Paul walked.

Continue with your local guide to visit the "golden" city of Mycenae, the city of the legendary king Atreus that gave its name to the earliest sophisticated Mycenaean Civilization on the mainland 4000 years ago, we will have the chance to discover the famous Tomb of King Agamemnon as well as the Lion’s Gate with the impressive Cyclopean Walls of Mycenae Archaeological Site. On the way to Nafplio the first capital of the modern Greek state on 19th century, with its Castle Bourtzi located in the middle of the Argolic Gulf and its Fortress on the top of the hill.  We will stroll in the narrow streets and the paved squares of the historical center and appreciate the multi-cultural character of the city through its Venetian buildings, ottoman fountains and neoclassical houses. Enjoy a delicious meal in a traditional tavern. 

On the way back to Athens we will visit the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus built in the 4th century BC that is one of the most important ancient archaeological sites. Also visit the Sanctuary of Asklepios, a mythological birthplace of Asklepios, the Greek God of Healing. Your day trip ends back to Athens late in the afternoon.
